I Pity The Dolls!: A Collection of Contemporary and Vintage Mr. T Dolls
Opening June 9th, 7-10 pm at Orchard Street Art Gallery on 139 Orchard Street (Between Delancy and Rivington) in Lower East Side, Manhattan. The show will be on view through July 9th.
Come view the most important collection of handmade Mr. T Dolls in existence — Over 150 vintage dolls lovingly made by parents for their children in the early 80’s inspired by Mrs. Martha’s Doll Pattern of the popular fool-pittier.
Mr. T Dolls made by contemporary artists including: Martina Secondo and Frank Russo of MF Gallery, Bill Mcright, Tadpole, Magmo the Destroyer, MCA of Evil Design, Urban Medium, JK5, Ssur, 360 Toy Group, Freaklub (Spain), Draawer (Singapore), BA Team (Netherlands), Rich Browd, Chase Whitaker, Jeannette Harshbarger, Raad, Niall McClelland, Whitepanic, Twerps! and more, to benefit the American Cancer Society and Cancer Care.
